July 13-15, 2009 - Mon to Wednesday -

Arts and Crafts Coordinator: Sis. Ceena Idicula

Since 2006, PYPA has successfully conducted 3 VBSs and delivered uncompromising Bible truths through fun themes using engaging music, skits, crafts and games. The successes of the previous VBSs were made possible through the prayer, dedication and commitment of volunteers like you.

PYPA is gearing up for VBS 2009 and we need you! This year, we’re planning to hold VBS from July 13th – July 15th and are looking for volunteers for the following positions.

Teachers –

-        Responsible for organizing activities for time spent in class room.

-        Preparing and teaching Bible lessons

-        Assisting students, nurturing relationships and maintaining discipline.

               Grades –

    •  
      • Preschoolers (Ages 4 and 5) (including those entering Kindergarten in fall)
      • Grade 1 and 2 (Ages 6 and 7)
      • Grade 3 and 4 (Ages 8 and 9)
      • Grade 5 and 6 (Ages 10 and 11)
      • Grade 6 and 7 (Ages 12 and 13) 

Teacher Assistants –

-        Close personal contact caring for one group of children

-        Keep children on schedule

-        Assistants to teachers and coordinators

Arts and crafts volunteers – Coordinator  - Ceena Idicula

-         Selecting crafts for each age group

-        Collecting and organizing craft materials

-        Supervising craft activities for all age levels

Recreation coordinator and volunteers

-        Plan and lead the children in games and recreation activities appropriate to their age level.

-        Obtain any necessary equipment required for the activities

 

Medical Team – Nurses and Doctors. Medical volunteers can volunteer for one day if their schedules do not permit them to volunteer for multiple days.

 

Refreshment volunteers –  Coordinator -  Matt

-        Responsible for helping Matt with the purchasing the meals

-        Serving lunch/snack

-        Directing lunch traffic and maintaining order in the lunch area

Volunteers for general assembly – Coordinator - Lena John

-        Assisting Lena with songs and games

-         Supervising the kids during the assembly

Registration Coordinator and volunteers –

-        Greeting students as they arrive

-        Registering the kids

-        Making sure that all reach the correct class (once they have entered into the database)

Step Up and Take down volunteers - Individuals who would be available before and after the 3 days of VBS to assist in decorating for the week and then to help return the building to its standard condition.

Daily Clean Up volunteers - Individuals spend time in the church anytime between the close of one daily session & the beginning of the next. Tasks may include vacuuming, emptying wastebaskets, etc. Notes left by staff in agreed location can provide communication of special needs.

Volunteers for the last 2 positions are not required during VBS hours

If you are unavailable for any of the above stated positions, please become a prayer partner for a staff member. Prayer support will deepen their abilities and stretch the possibilities
